May 21-23: WOW! Women on the Water Series...Northwoods Ironwoman I
3-D Archery and Panfish/Walleye Fishing Trip
Day one of this weekend trip will find us fishing for walleyes and panfish near St. Paul, MN. You won't believe the great fishery the metropolitan lakes offer. Hey, I'm "challenged" at jigging and even I can catch walleyes this time of year! Hands-on instruction is provided and gear/boats/fishing partners will be arranged if needed. A cookout and campfire completes this great spring day.
Sunday will find us at a nearby archery range shooting bows at 3-D targets. This is really a fun sport! We'll have a diverse mix of targets (turkeys, deer, sheep, bear, etc.) set up throughout the forest. So, in addition to "shooting and releasing" the moose-of-your-lifetime, you will enjoy a wonderful hike in this lovely setting. Professional archers will thoroughly discuss gear, demonstrate techniques, and share tips to help the complete novices as well as advanced shooters. Lodging, meals, instruction, pre-trip gear list, prizes and fun all included in price. Equipment rentals arranged for added cost.

July 9-11: WOW! Women on the Water Series..Northwoods Ironwoman II
Trap Shooting and Bass/Pike Fishing Trip
Day one of this weekend trip will find us tying into a variety of freshwater fish on Vilas County, Wisconsin lakes. You can choose to fight scrappy smallies, pike, or muskies! Hands-on instruction is provided and gear/boats/fishing partners will be arranged if needed. A cookout and campfire complete Saturday.
Sunday will find us up in Land O Lakes, learning to trap shoot. This event, hosted at the historic Gateway Lodge Gun Club is led by shooting professional John Muir. John is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient teacher...and all levels of shooters will benefit from his expertise. Gun safety and firearm overview, on-the-range instruction, trap shooting and gun cleaning will be taught. Firearm rentals available.
Lodging, meals, instruction, prizes, pre-trip gear list, and fun all included in price. Equipment rentals arranged for added cost.

August 27-29: WOW! Women on the Water Series...Northwoods Ironwoman III
Musky Fishing and ATV Ride
This weekend trip will find us tempting toothy critters by tossing topwaters over weedbeds and crankin' deep diving baits off weed edges. Park Falls, Wisconsin, offers opportunities for your "first musky" or your "biggest musky." Learn how to burn a bucktail or grind a spinner bait through thick coontail. Hands-on instruction is provided and gear/boats/fishing partners are arranged if needed. A cookout and campfire completes Saturday.
Sunday includes hopping on an ATV and riding the expansive trail system in the area. Breaks will be taken throughout the day to pick blackberries, discuss ATV maintenance and troubleshooting problems, and eat a sack lunch in the middle of the forest. ATV rentals available

Sept 22-26: WOW! Women on the Water! Musky Huntress Trip: Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced musky fisherwoman, this all-women's trip will be one of the highlights of your year. Newbies will learn all the basics (tying a Palomar knot, throwing a baitcaster, running a trolling motor, operating a boat) and adept anglers will learn advanced techniques. Headquartered in Wisconsin's Oneida County, a fun group of women returns each year--and we always welcome new faces (but be prepared to fish and laugh hard!!) Trip includes 4 nights lodging (double occupancy), all breakfasts and dinners, all instruction/daily seminars and hands-on demos, detailed gear list, maps, prizes, and more. $499.00
 
Oct. 7-10: Couples Chasing Muskies (Affectionately dubbed Couples on the Water or "COW")
Make your better half be “the net man” at this unique trip. Held on Lake Vermilion in Minnesota we'll be fishing BIG water for BIG fish. The past few years we've hosted some awesome couples...come join the fun! Trip includes 4 nights lodging, all breakfasts and dinners, daily seminars and hands-on demos (learning to use your sonar and GPS is paramount on these waters!), detailed gear list, maps, prizes and more. Pool and spa, nightly entertainment and fun and games (I'm sure we'll re-visit "the Newlywed Game" again!) will make this a memorable experience for both husband and wife.

*My family just had a kind of family reunion up on the Cisco Chain. We were talking to the owner (Peg) of the place we were staying and she mentioned that she had 15 ladies staying there the week before we were there. I knew it had to be you and your WOW group. She said you caught lots of fish. Wish I could say the same, just a little 31" Tiger, incidental 21" Walleye and enough pan-fish for a couple fish fries. So I guess I've done worse in the past. I'm headed back up later this week with a buddy, staying at the Pine Aire just north of Land O' Lakes. We'll be launching each day and might try other lakes, but the Cisco Chain is my favorite and most familiar, so I suspect we'll spend most of our time there.

You really did a great job all around, as usual! Every thing was wonderful. I can not tell you how much fun I had and I always learn soooo much. I come away with a new sense of self confidence. *The school was a phenomenal event for me for a couple of reasons: I have been hunting muskies for many years, always wondering if other women enjoyed this as much as I do. Thanks to a lady who had the daring initiative to put together a Musky School for Women, I finally got my answer. There are alot of other women who enjoy this, the camaraderie was unbelievable. Since I fish 100% with my husband, this gave me the opportunity to enhance my confidence with boat handling and every aspect of fishing, as this was solely up to me. Mission accomplished, with alot of help from everyone who attended. Now I'm counting down the days till the second trip in June, it's alot of fun just getting away with a bunch of other like minded women. This is something that Patricia puts alot of heartfelt effort into, and you can tell. I am so glad to be apart of this and encourage any lady that would just like to give it a try, GO FOR IT! *Patricia...Thanks for another great WOW experience. You know you are my IDOL and my MENTOR, you always say it is so hard for you to do this because you are a woman. Stop trying so hard you don't have to prove anything to anyone, you are great at what you do. Guiding and teaching are your thing, the WOW girls absorb everything you say and watch every move you make. And you've taught us to to work together and be the best we can be on the water. And it shows. This is a fine group of ladies; everyone helps each other out. I am so greatful for meeting you and am proud to be part of the WOW group.

**All muskies and large specimans of other species at all venues are released. We highly encourage CPR (Catch, Photo, and Release). We gladly share information and recommendations on graphite replicas.

Instructor's Bios...
 Karen Di Pietro is a lifelong fisherman. "It was my absolute disgust for worms and leeches that started my fascination with fishing tackle!" (I'm with you, there!) Karen now owns Producer Tackle, which manufactures Rattlin' Shads and Ducetails. She's also fished the PMTT (Professional Musky Tournament Trail) for the past five seasons. I am very patient when it comes to teaching things such as throwing a baitcasting reel or netting a large fish. Remember, when you hire a guide you are to expect an educational and entertaining day. I have gear especially suited for a woman's smaller frame, hand size, and strength constraints. I promise you a comfortable, relaxing day on the water with no worries!
 
*Guided trips in my rowboat: If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, you will probably love to learn to "row troll (fish while rowing)." I have a comfortable rowboat! We'll get a little exercise, enjoy the beautiful scenery and hopefully catch a fat walleye or musky!
