A Blond and Her Boat Group Fishing Trips...
We hope to inspire, educate and provide opportunities for women to enjoy this wonderful sport. How can we accomplish this?
*2008 A Blond & Her Boat Group Fishing Trips All-Women’s and Couples Trips *Need a fishing partner? Don't have a boat? We'll help take care of all the details!
Alyssa Haukom-President, WomenHunters.com May 2-4: Northwoods Ironwoman I: 3-D Archery and Multi-Species Fishing Trip: *fishing segment sponsored by Shimano* Day one of this weekend trip will find us fishing for walleyes and panfish near Eagle River, Wisconsin. Hey, I'm "challenged" at jigging and even I can catch walleyes this time of year! Hands-on instruction is provided and gear/boats/fishing partners will be arranged if needed. A cookout and campfire completes this great spring day. Sunday will find us near St. Germain, shooting bows at 3-D targets. This is really a fun sport! We'll have a diverse mix of targets (turkeys, deer, sheep, bear, etc.) set up throughout the forest. So, in addition to "shooting and releasing" the moose-of-your-lifetime, you will enjoy a wonderful hike in this lovely setting. Professional archer Joe Schneider and crew will thoroughly discuss gear, demonstrate techniques, and share tips to help the complete novices as well as advanced shooters. Lodging, meals, instruction, pre-trip gear list, prizes and fun all included in price. Equipment rentals arranged for added cost. Email us for pricing details...(determined by your equipment needs)

May 30-June 1: Northwoods Ironwoman II: Trap Shooting and Multi-Species Fishing Trip: Day one of this weekend trip will find us tying into a variety of freshwater fish on Vilas County, Wisconsin lakes. You can choose to fight scrappy smallies, pike, or muskies! Hands-on instruction is provided and gear/boats/fishing partners will be arranged if needed. A cookout and campfire complete Saturday. Sunday will find us up in Land O Lakes, learning to trap shoot. This event, hosted at the historic Gateway Lodge Gun Club is led by shooting professional John Muir. John is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient teacher...and all levels of shooters will benefit from his expertise. Gun safety and firearm overview, on-the-range instruction, trap shooting and gun cleaning will be taught. Firearm rentals available. Lodging, meals, instruction, prizes, pre-trip gear list, and fun all included in price. Equipment rentals arranged for added cost. Email us for pricing details...(determined by your equipment needs)

June 4-7: WOW! Women on the Water! Shimano’s Intermediate Musky Huntress Trip: For gals who already have boating and musky fishing experience, this trip teaches advanced techniques. Headquartered in Eagle River, Wisconsin, we'll fish some of my favorite lakes. Last year's trip was incredible. Each boat had a chance at a musky and 80% of them caught and released one. A fun group of women--I'm hoping many of them return (but we welcome new faces!) We all shared many laughs and made some great memories. Daily skills seminars will include troubleshooting outboard motor problems, reel maintenance, and hook setting and removal practice. Dockside lure demos and casting contests also mixed in. This trip includes 4 nights lodging (double occupancy), all breakfasts and dinners, all instruction and hands-on demos, detailed gear list, maps, prizes and more. A campfire and cook out completes this incredible Northwoods experience.

Aug 13-16th: Frabill's Couples Chasing Muskies: Make your better half be “the net man” at this unique trip. Held in Vilas County, Wisconsin, we'll be fishing a variety of my favorite waters. And, we'll take in some night fishing...a very effective (and romantic!) technique. At last year's trip we hosted some awesome couples...come join the fun! Daily seminars will include an intensive outboard and trolling motor troubleshooting seminar, dockside lure demos, and fun casting contests. Trip includes 4 nights lodging, all breakfasts and dinners, all instruction and hands-on demos, detailed gear list, maps, prizes and more. A campfire, cook out, and fun and games (I'm sure we'll re-visit "the Newlywed Game" again!) will make this a memorable experience for both husband and wife.

Sept 24-27: WOW! Women on the Water! Shimano’s Beginner Musky Huntress Trip: For gals new to chasing muskies, this trip teaches all the basics--like throwing a baitcaster reel, tying a Palomar knot, and sharpening a treble hook. You'll learn how to "burn bucktails" and execute a figure-8 like a pro. Most importantly, you'll receive hands-on boat operations instruction (you'll learn to back up your boat & trailer without your husband yelling at you!) In short order you will be confidently launching, loading, and racing from one hot spot to another. We'll be fishing action lakes in Vilas County, to put you in contact with muskies and northern pike. Trip includes 4 nights lodging (double occupancy), all breakfasts and dinners, all instruction and hands-on demos, detailed gear list, prizes and more. A campfire and cook out completes this fun Northwoods experience.

 Instructor's Bios...
Karen Di Pietro is a lifelong fisherman. "It was my absolute disgust for worms and leeches that started my fascination with fishing tackle!" (I'm with you, there!) Karen now owns Producer Tackle, which manufactures Rattlin' Shads and Ducetails. She's also fished the PMTT (Professional Musky Tournament Trail) for the past five seasons. She's an enthusiastic, knowledgeable musky fisherman and I look forward to working with her. Contact: producertackle@sbcglobal.net
MY MISSION: **It is truly a mission of mine to get more women out on the water...If you have a gal in your life that shows any interest in the sport (your wife, daughter, mother, daughter-in-law, friend...) please contact me. I love to share my knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for the sport with other women.

*Guided trips in my Crestliner Fishhawk: I'm thrilled to help gals learn how to fish. I am very patient when it comes to teaching things such as throwing a baitcasting reel or netting a large fish. Remember, when you hire a guide you are to expect an educational and entertaining day. I have gear especially suited for a woman's smaller frame, hand size, and strength constraints. I promise you a comfortable, relaxing day on the water with no worries!

*Guided trips in my rowboat: If you enjoy canoeing or kayaking, you will probably love to learn to "row troll (fish while rowing)." I have a comfortable rowboat! We'll get a little exercise, enjoy the beautiful scenery and hopefully catch a fat walleye or musky!

*Seminars: I present seminars to groups, organizations and at tradeshows that discuss the "how's" of getting more women on the water. These are in-depth presentations that discuss proper "female-friendly" gear and techniques. If your group is interested, please contact me.
*Women's 11th Annual Musky Tournament: Held at Island View Lodge in Mercer, WI. We fish lakes Fisher, Catherine and Cedar. Limited strictly to "women who love to fish and have fun doing it!" Men are welcome to join in...the guys handle all the food preparation and beverage serving afterwards! This is a fun outing. This year's date is not determined yet (it's usually toward the end of Sept.) Contact Ellen Wells ewells@excel.net
