I've worn glasses since I was in 5th grade. I was terribly nearsighted. I was also reaching the age where my arms weren't long enough (needing bifocals to read.) Well...Doctor Alexander fixed all of that! He implanted multi-focal lenses into my eyes! "Perma Clear" intra-ocular lenses mean no more glasses or contacts--not even cheaters! Lasik is a fine choice for some folks, but, for me it would have meant wearing reading glasses yet. If you'd like to be glasses free (except my Costa Del Mar sunglasses, of course!) go visit Doc Alexander. It's painless. It's extraordinary. Email me if you have any questions....and, tell him I sent you. www.alexandereyeinstitute.com

ThermaCELL cordless butane units distribute pyrethrin. They make great insect repellents. Bring one along in your boat or bring on shore while you are cooking dinner. www.thermacell.com
What other insect repellents do I recommend? I prefer the active ingredients picaridin over DEET. Picaridin is recognized as safer, it is also not a plasticizer (DEET ruins plastic fishing tackle), and is more effective against biting flies. Try: Cutter's Advanced Sportsman, Cutter's Skinsations, or Repel's Sportman Gear Smart. All Picaridin based, 10 hours repellency! *For those of you who prefer natural ingredients, try Repel's Lemon Eucalyptus; www.spectrumbrands.com *For those of you who are sold on DEET, try Sawyer Products Ultra 30. Liposomes allow DEET delivery to take place over a longer time, thus reducing absorption rate; www.sawyerproducts.com
Looking for a great sportsman's camera? Check out Olympus Stylus cameras. Their Stylus Tough series are both waterproof and shockproof; www.olympusamerica.com
If you're a big game fisherman, these cutters are a MUST have. Knipex nippers cut through big treble hooks--very important when a fish is precariously hooked. Yes, they are expensive. Attach them to a lanyard and hook them onto your belt loop; www.knipex.com
These electronic charts work very well in your sonar unit. Hey, if they can help me navigate big water, they'll help anyone!! www.navionics.com
